Traded a lot of old computer components for 2 used SCSI 10k Hard Drives. They are a start of a performance system. Wanted a PC to act like a server or a server to act like a pc. Need recommendations for motherboard/cpu. Also, what is the least expensive way that I can connect SCSI hard drives to motherboard (cheapest adapter).
What are your recommendations for a performance system? What motherboard etc. should I RAID them? The new build will mostly be for games. Plan on building it over the next couple months.
Have a case, power supply, HDrives........any suggestions..................? Not looking for cutting edge, just performance and 2 SCSI seems like a good start.
Hey, not many people deal with SCSI drives here, so perhaps they just don't know the answer for you. If you google SCSI adapters you might be able to find something
I think SATA-300 drives offer very competitive speeds, and you can get a 500 GB disk for $100 or so. Honestly, I wouldn't invest in a SCSI controller these days.
Found a SCSI controller used for a very good price.
Wanted some information on what the numbers mean for SCSI and SATA.
Is an SCSI 160 controller/drive the same as a SATA -10mbps. 160 vs 150? While is an ultraSCSI320 is close to SATA II 320 vs 300?
A 160 controller should then suit my needs being that the newest technology CPU/GPU/Memory/HD can barely break transfer rates of 50-60 mbps. Correct or not?
