I'm looking to replace my dying laptop with a new desktop :)

What I'm looking for:
- Somewhere along $800 (without monitors).
- Dual monitor set up.
- Will run Linux exclusively (3-4 years experience).
- No games, the occasional digital photo retouch, but lots of music (so a slightly nicer soundcard is preferable).
- Main uses: programming (php, python, c++), writing, listening to music, websurfing, etc. Usually run Apache
and MySQL along with desktop environment (kde/fluxbox).
- Memory 2GB (expanding to 4 in the future).
- I want it to last me at least 3 years.
- Storage: 500GB minimum, 2nd drive to be added at a later date.
- For drives also considering starting out with a small(ish) raptor first for added speed (if that's really the case).
- I need a wireless card as well (router is close enough).

I'm comfortable with putting my own hardware together, although I'm not very knowledgable about brands, models, etc. If the budget sounds too low I could wait another month and add 2-300 bucks to the budget.

If someone has any ideas, I would be really grateful. I'm a bit lost with all the different options and so far all I've done is to browse NewEgg for the "top sellers"...
