Last night I changed the stock cooler on a e4400 to an Arctic Cooler Freezer Pro 7.
Initially I had some high temps (68-69 C) it settled down to (47-51 C) on TAT after a couple
of panic reboots. To be frank,it is only a couple degrees better that the stock cooler. When
should I reseat or should I give it another 24 hours. I was expecting an eight degree difference
on idle and not a marginal improvement.
My Case is an Antec P180B with extra upper intake fans. I have Artic Silver 5
on standy. I suspect the MX-1 paste is not all that hot ,the cooler is on tight what should I
do? Any thoughts or experiences welcome ! :heink:

Give it 48 hours runtime before reseating.

I apply a very thin line (new fave; old is a dot the size of rice) of AS5 across the cpu. It's been great. My o/c'ed cpu temp is in the low 30's idle in the basement(ground temp -10'c).

Depending on your cpu stepping, the M0 can take up to 73'c whereas the L2 up to 61'c.
