Can I downgrade Gateway SX2800 to XP?

Just got this computer but was just wonder in we can downgrade from vista to XP?

yes, it is not too difficult, does not require dual boot.
you can get the drivers from intel site.

first you have to make the HD controller type IDE
install xp, then you can load the atapi drivers

I too have an SX2800. I contacted Gateway about downgrading and they won't send a disk and said that they don't have the drivers to support the move either.

So can someone tell me step by step or with provide links on how to downgrade? Also, which version of XP would be best to buy since I only have XP on discs for other computers.

The Dual Boot, Virtural XP does little to help anyone other than big business. I need the features of XP to work, my programs to run and produce just like they use to under XP and most of all I don't want IE8.
