Can't login to cloned drive
Last response: in Windows XP
I cloned my old boot drive using Norton Ghost and the new drive successfully boots. But when I try to login, the login process starts and then immediately logs me out. It sounds like this might be a drive letter issue. This is a laptop with a single drive so I need to be able to both boot from and login to the same drive. What do I need to do?

OK, I found the solution. I had previously cloned the new drive. I cloned it again because the drive was trashed by a trojan. The solution to my problem was to simply delete the existing partition and then clone the disk - worked like a champ.
I searched high and low for a solution - suggestions ranged from copying userinit.exe to wsaupdater.exe and then modifying the registry to running fixmbr and fixboot to other more complex solutions. Nothing worked but simply deleting the partition did
