Need a new display and I have a budget of around £250. Looking for some advice on the following.

Ideally I would like the display to be 20-22" widescreen, and be able to play my xbox 360 in HD and play all my PC games smoothly. I'm not sure if I want a monitor purely for my PC which may be better or a monitor that can display my xbox 360 and PC.

I have found the:

Samsung SM226BW 22"
LG M228WA 22"
LG 22LS4R 22"

Samsung looks the best to me, but will I won't be able to play my xbox in HD with it?

The LG M228WA has DVI and component (which is what I would use to play the 360 in HD yes?), but no HDMI if I were to upgrade my xbox at a later stage to the elite with HDMI. Also a 5ms response which is slightly slower than the Samsung.

LG 22LS4R is the same as the other one but HDMI instead of DVI. Is the DVI needed for high quality from my display (7900GT) as apposed to using VGA?

Or if anyone could recommend another monitor that could display and xbox 360 in HD and also give a great display on my games.

Thanks

I have the samsung syncmaster 906bw. it has a better contrast ratio and the respose time is better. I got it a best buy for $219, but you could get it for less online. I have a 7900gt, and yes DVI is usually needed for high quality. I have tried them both (vga, DVI) on my monitor and the DVI seems sharper and has more vivid colors. does the XBOX support DVI or HDMI? i heard that it didn't.

The newest revision to the Premium hardware and the Elite have HDMI-out. However, better than component is VGA and you can get a VGA connector for the X360. So you could run DVI to the videocard in your computer and VGA to the X360.

VGA is better than component? Better in which way? And if I use VGA everything will be in HD still?

Am I missing much with HDMI? Visually is there much difference between HDMI and component or VGA?
