My gigabyte 8800 gts 320mb was in 60 celcious when idle.. is this a bit warm to a gpu? however, i notice that the fan speed setting in nvidia control panel, the default is 59% and after i changed to 100% it goes down to around 53 celcious. But when i start vista, even i put to 100% fan speed, when idle is still 60 celcious, so...do i need extra fan for gpu cooling? will this be a bit warm? (when gaming it goes to around 80 celcious)
Thats not bad at 60C. If your air temps in your room are high, then thats the situation. Ambient air temps up 3-5 C, then itll show on your card. Mine runs around 56, tho Im running XP. Vista kicks the 3D in for the Vista experience, thats why it runs a lil higher

hmm.. i see. so if i get a cheap gpu fan (which no need to unplug the origin fan) on another slot, will it help? or it does not help much? oh ya, even i'm in air-cooling room, still remain 60 celcious (59% fan speed).
