Hi!

This might be a newbie question, but here it goes anyway.

I am going to assemble my own HTPC and have been looking around for components. The chassi I've found comes with a built in motherboard. Now to my question: The motherboard supports CPU FSB at 1066/800 MHz, what happens if I install a CPU with a FSB at 1333 Mhz? The reason I asking is because for some reason the CPU with the faster FSB is a lot cheaper than it's 1066 counterpart...

Thanks in advance...

Thx for the quick response.
The strange thing is that the E6750 goes for 1600 SEK and the 1066 version, E6700, would cost me 2400 SEK...

Theres a good reason for that. The whole series comes with a locked multiplier.

The difference is the E6750 uses an 8multi, while the E6700 uses a 10multi.

SO theoretically unless you had a high end mobo capable of high FSB overclocks its much easier to get a E6700 and overclock then a E6750.

If that makes sense.
