I am currently planning on using a OCZ GameXStream 700w PSU for my system:

Intel E6750 or Q6600 cant decide :)
Gigabyte p35C-DS3R
2 gb crucial ram
evga 8800 gts
3 sata 2 WD drives
2 sata 2 optiarc drives
Acer 22in lcd

Is 700w wayy too much? I picked it due to the number of sata power connectors and the ability to upgrade in the future but now I am having doubts?

Thnx

no 700 is good , but if u have a 22inch LCD then u can get a cheaper PSU instead , (i think Corsair 620 is cheaper ) and get a 8800GTX if u can , if u cant do it , then that 700W GameXStream looks very good

you almost have the same rig as me, i liked the ocz 700w a lot. putting ocz700w into p180 shouldnt be a problem, just make sure you put some effort in cable management. p180 is kinda hard to work with @ 1st.

I'm running less and I'm running a 700W PSU. It's impossible to future proof your system but I think buying the best PSU you can afford always gives you some room to work with.

Oh and I have decided Q6600

accu do you have any recommendations for cabling? I'm willing to put a few hours in a well routed cabling system and am open to suggestions.

Cheers!

I agree with Maziar its ok plus if u upgrade later u can still use it on your new machine. and the other thing is the gts is the weak pt. go gtx if u can.

You could always go for the 600watt gamexstreme, or the 600watt stealthxstream like I did, it runs fine. Much cheaper and unless you need all that power, it wont make any difference.

I would go for the corsair hx620w, seen sume really good reviews on it. Saw this 1 where it was running dual 8800gtx´s <<<< pretty amazing. Heres a link http://www.legitreviews.com/article/462/1/

The Enermax Infiniti 720W is fully modular and PCI-E 2.0 compatable. Works like a dream. The cables are easily long enough to in my P182. The only problem is that it is a big power supply. It'll be a bit of a struggle to fit your P180. I found it a pain to fit in.

If you have the money then its not overkill. If you dont have the money the corsair hx620w is a very good power supply.
