Ok so I am building my 1st system in 5 years. Yes I'm gaming on a 5 year old computer.

I play WOW, and am dying in 25 man raids. 2-7 FPS is ugly.

I have a great 19" monitor at 1280x1024. That is all the resolution I need.

I need help on a full build including a case, at $1000 or less ($750 would keep the wife from killing me). The only requirement is that I get 50-60 FPS in raids on WOW. I'm willing to do minor upgrades in a year or so. I do not want to overclock the system (That's probably the reason why my current system has made it so long).

Any ideas would be spectacular...

Thanks in advance

Hey there welcome to the forums! Since you are only playing WOW you can get a pretty inexpensive Graphics card that would still work great.

Cooler Master Centurion 5
Antec NeoHE 430
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6550 2.4GHz
GIGABYTE MB GA-P35-DS3L
STT DDR2-667 2GB (2x1GB)
Seagate ST3250410AS 250GB
LG Electronics GSA-H62NK 18X SATA Super Multi DVD+/-RW
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950Pro 256MB

Something like could be had for around 715-720 :)

Plus with that board you'll be able to swap out the CPU for the newer Intel 45nm chips.

If you have any questions about anything, msg me. AIM/Yahoo: Maximus9102 :)

Very similar to what Solariscs suggested, with just a few improvements/changes:

Centurion 534 $40

Gigabyte GA-P35-S3L $87

E6550 $169

Super Talent 2GB $94

EVGA 8800 GTS 320MB $260
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130082
Seagate 320GB $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148140
LG 18X 28

Xclio Goodpower 500W $50

$808 Total after only $30 in rebates. Best bang for the buck in my opinion, there will not be any slowdowns in WoW at any point with this CPU/Memory/Video card combo, that's pretty much a guarantee.

If that's still too much for any reason, step down to an X1950XT, will be more than enough power for WoW, and you decrease the total price by $100.

Good luck.
