O.K. my expert amigos, what does the product code "BX80562Q6600SL9UM" tell me about my new Q6600 chip? Once again, I look forward to learning from the community's collective insight!

You have the older B3 stepping which is rated at 105w, 61.5*C and will probably run hotter and overclock worse then the new G0 stepping which is rated at 95w and 71 *C. Still, none the less it is a quad core, which will kick *** no matter which stepping it is. Enjoy it!

The difference will be hardly nothing..

Many thanks. Although I realized there would be a difference, I did not know just how small it was. No overclocking intended here, just "straight outta tha box" computing. Video editing, some gaming. Simple.

The difference is huge - i just got done testing a batch of mobo's and chips - q6600 g0 fixes the voltage issues and many other things
