NEC ND-2500A drive can read DVD but not CD-rom

I can access my Restore DVD but can not read CD-Rom's or audio CD's. ? ?

Greetings: Could be a bad drive, as DVD lasers are a little
different than just CD lasers. The laser may be bad
for one, but the other can work. I had this issue, had
to buy a new drive..
