hello,
i would like to know which card is better for the use of photoshop cs3 heavy use,
Avid video use and other non 3D graphics uses,

the 8800gts 640MB or quadro fx 1500?

tnx,

get a 7950gt and convert it to a fx 3500, a much better option for 3d than the quadro fx 1500 and the 8800gts640mb, not the quadro 1500 because of price to performance and not eh 8800gts640 because it isn't designed for that kinda thing...

adobe photoshop cs3? i swear that thing is more cpu intensive than anything...

i actually meant that i'm NOT useing 3D softwere and rendering,
only Avid and CS3, that's the reason i wanted to know the difference between the cards.
and if i don't need FX card, should i get the 8800GTS or a cheaper card?

8800gts, probably the 320, not the 640, i don't honestly think the performance difference is worth the excess.

CS3 uses 3D acceleration???? Last I knew, you could run that on an integrated Intel video chip, as long as you have a beastly processor...

Well, if you're using photoshop then it doesn't really make a difference. Personally I'd just stick with whatever GPU you already have and then just get a powerful CPU. Quadros are more for 3D rendering like Maya or Softimage.
