My friend bought the Ga-p35c-ds3r like i did and he got it this weekend. But when he put it all together and boots up all he gets is a looong beep. He tested each part, and noticed when he took out his 8800 ultra the Pc boots. So he thought it was broken, and went and exchanged it. Put it back in and still 1 long beep. The pc works fine with his older ATI card but not with the 8800 ultra. What should i have him do? Is the p/s bad? its a 700 watt? Should he flash?

Make sure you plugged the 2 PCIe power connectors into that beast. It will just sit there and make a loud beeping noise if you don't.

edit: By beast I meant 8800 ultra.

Like homerdog said, it's probably a power issue.
But just in case, I had some random long beeps with my DS3R until I went through the Bios with the manual and carefully configured all the options (ex. I don't think it defaults to having the graphics card on the pci-e 16x slot). After that it was gone and it's running beautifully.

i find out hes not using the 6 pin pcie connectors off his power supply instead of he using the adaptors that come with the 3d card. Could that have been it?

If his power supply has pcie connectors I would suggest he use them, but the adapters shouldn't cause a problem as long as the 12V rails are strong enough.
