Hi folks,

I want to install a Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme and a Noctua 120mm fan on the Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6. I've heard it's a tight fit, but was just wonder how tight.

How much of a headache can I expect with installing this cooler?

Is it enough of an issue that I should consider another option?

Thanks.

It will fit, but you have to remove the Crazy Cool back plate, because you'll need the Ultra 120 back plate. Also one of the heat pipes will hit the chipset cooler fins, but it's not enough that the heatsink won't sit squarely. This if you install the heatsink vertically.

The install wasn't complicated. Be careful when you pull off the top heatsink fin, I bent mine a bit to get to the screws for the Crazy Cool. Oh, if you have a fan on both sides, the one near the exhaust will hit the chipset cooler fins. I dremeled the fan a bit.

Here you go: (I've since changed the mounting orientation to "parallel" to the ram). It will fit either way.
