Hello,
My mom had internet through a cable provider on her desktop computer using Windows xp. She switched to HughesNet and not cannot get an internet connection. When I plug in my laptop to her HughesNet it works just fine. Please help...she's driving me crazy! lol! Thanks, mpenny

Click on the Start button, right-click on "Network Connections," select "Open." Right-click on the "Local Area Connection," select "Properties," verify that "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" is listed and has a check-mark.
-- If it is not listed: click on the Install button and install it.
-- If (or when) it is present and checked, select it and click on the Properties button> General Tab: select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically." Click on OK button.

You may have to re-start the computer. After that see if you have internet connectivity.
-- If so, collect appropriate reward from Mom - maybe a cookie. And tell her how much you love her.
-- If not, call HughesNet tech help, and have them walk you through the steps.
