Hi people

I have a few questions.

I just bought a E6750 and im wondering if i should take it back and get the E6850

I have been reading something about the E6750 and 1:1 ratio for ram? I am way new to the overclocking thing but with my mobo and these chips it seems easy to do.

Heres my system.

eVGA 680i sli (A1) mobo

E6750

and I had crucial dominator pc6400C4D, but after talking with crucial the optimal ram for my set up is crucial dominator pc8500C5D

I only play video games.

Thanks in advace for any input!!

James

Keep it. Save the cash and use it for your next upgrade. You'll barely notice a difference anyway.

Send it back and get Q6600.

It seems the E6750 overclocks better, and the E6850 run a little hotter to start.

But the E6850 starts with a higher freq, and from what im reading there is no substitution when gamming.

if u really want to replace your E6750(which is a prett good CPU)then go for Q6600

Yeah, I guess I need to qualify my answer now that the q6600 is in the game. If you have the money, the quad will give you some future proofing as more games will start using 4 cores.
I personally still went with the e6750, should arrive Monday.

You have a high end processor. Unless you suddenly have the desire to make more work for yourself for little benefit, there is no reason to trade in the processor. Wait for significant upgrades to come out.
