Hi guys,

I have 2 choices for the motherboard
1. Asus P5K-VM (G33 + ICH9)
2. Gigabyte G33M-DS2R (G33 + ICH9R)

Which one do you think is a better option?

Thanks

If you don't find any specific features you want in either, then go with whatever is cheaper. I think the Gigabyte board is a good overclocker for mATX if you care about that.

The difference between the 2 boards price is 8$ + a few $ +/- for shipping + taxes.
Asus - 124$ + shipping + taxes
Gigabyte - 132$ + shipping + taxes

The reason I am confused is Asus boards are generally rock solid, whereas the gigabyte board features the UltraCool and UltraDurable specs for whatever those are worth.

I have the Gigabyte, and I have not had any trouble with it. It is a loaded board. One feature I'm sure I'll use is the eSATA bracket that also provides power, so you can do a quick and dirty hookup of any SATA drive without needing an enclosure or power brick.
