This is the system I built about 3 months ago:

M/B- Asus P5N-SLI Socket 775 ATX
CPU- Pentium D 940 3.2GHz 800MHz FSB
CPU FAN- Thermaltake Typhoon VX Socket 775
RAM- OCZ PC 5400 667MHz DDR2 Dual Channel 4GB (4x1GB)
VIDEO- XFX Geforce 7300GT 512MB GDDR2 PCI-E (Dual DVI/S-video) SLI capable
SOUND- Soundblaster Audigy Z 5.1 D.D.S.S.
HDD- Seagate 320GB 7200.10 Barracuda S-ATA
ODD- Sony-NEC 20x DVD+-RW
CASE- Diablotek 450W PS Mid-tower w/ clear side panel and red-accent lights
CASE FAN- 120mm Double-Ball Bearing Rear
MONITOR- Hanns-G 19” WdScrn 700:1 Contrast 5ms Response DVI-D LCD
M/K- Logitech Wireless Set
SPEAKERS- Logitech 5.1 DDSS 280W
O/S- Windows XP Professional
A/S- Office 2007 Ultimate

I have concerns with the the Videocard and the processor...anyone think i should just have gone with the Intel C2D E4400 2.0GHz 800mhz FSB or even the Intel Dual-Core E2160 1.8GHz 800 MHz FSB which is rated better than the E4400 by toms CPU chart??

The system crashed on me recently, and idk where i went wrong with components....the assembly was solid, i was tedious from everything to protecting against static shock, to checking connections, i mean...the system ran solid for 3 months...and then...boom....gone....the Fan is rated for any processor, its huge and moves air great...and the CPU isnt fried....idk...im soo confused....

See the link to related threads for what happened to the system...

:fou:
Other concerns
**is the 4GB of OCZ Memory overkill
**should i go with a Windows Vista 64-bit OS
**should i have gone with an Ultra Tower and 500W PS?

This system cost me around 1200 after taxes.... and thats cuz i got the OS and Office free

A C2D would be a good upgrade, idk if it would solve anything though.

Why did you buy a pentium D?

hmm so the OS crashed once? That happens somethings. If you have 4GB of ram, you have to have 64-bit to use all of it. I would suggest it because thats what I run and love it.

the OS didnt crash, idk...what did...its component tho...bc i dont even get bios....and turboflame, i went with the pen D bc i made a poor choice and was trying to cut some costs, tigerdirect had the E4400 C2D at 150 when i bought it..they just dropped it to 130...and the PD was only 90 when i got it
