Hello,

I'd like to try and optimize my system to unlock its full potential, butt I need help from skilled OC'ers.

My system:

Mainboard: EVGA nForce 680i SLI
CPU: Intel QX6700
RAM: 4 x 1 GB Crucial Ballistix PC6400 800Mhz CL4 (currently set to 4-4-4-12 in the BIOS)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX KO ACS3
PSU: Silverstone Zeus 850W
CPU Cooling: Thermalright Extreme 120 Ultra
Cabinet Fans: 6 x Scythe S-Flex

So that's my current system.

CPU is currently running its default clock at 2.66 Ghz and can probably do much better what with the cooler I've got on it.

What I would like to do is to overclock the CPU slowly and find a good point of stability and also "optimize" the mainboard (if possible), memory and video card.

I could take some digital photos of how my BIOS is currently looking and post them in here if need be.

Could someone help me overclock this system?

Thanks,
Bassa

I checked the System Monitor in the BIOS, and here's what it said:

Temperatures
CPU: 30C
Board: 28C
MCP: 53C

Voltages
CPU Core: 1.24V
CPU FSB: 1.19V
Memory: 2.20V

Your cpu is attached to the stock fan? Then it won't o/c too far.

What's the revision of your mobo?

Basically, you disable all spread spectrums, lock pci at 100mhz, leave cpu multi at 10x (you will probably have to lower it), unlink FSB, adjust QDR from 1066 & upwards & DDR from 800 to around 1200 (do memtest or superpi 2mb each time you change QDR/DDR2), disable everything except cpu core in cpu config, & leave voltages at auto.

Best o/c cpu first, then ram, then together unlinked. You may have to loosen ram timings to 5-5-5-15 when you o/c it.
