Hello.
I'm new to this forum but I hope that maybe I will find some help here.
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FE41M with a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA and I get "power calibration error" in NERO 7 when I try to write a DVD. My OS is Windows VISTA Ultimate.
I try to get a firmware update from the Sony official website but I could not find one.
I have reinstall the operating system but the problem remains.
Can anyone help me please? What can I do?
Don't think you will be able to resolve this issue because according to the error message the driver lens cannot calibrate in the right position and therefore the drive cannot burn any DVDs or CDs.
This is a mechanical problem and in my knowledge the drive must be replaced.
Thank you for your rapid response.
A friend has recommended me Ashampoo Burning Studio 7.
I try with that and at 1x I was SUCCESSFUL in writing the DVD but at 2x an 4x I’ve got this error: “Could not write to device Recording DVD failed”
What can you tell me now?
You have a bad SPTI layer or a faulty drive. Try downloading ForceASPI, which will replace the SPTI layer with ASPI - it worked for me in the past.
