Alright, I'm building a budget build computer and I need some help. I know there are several threads out there about this topic, but I want some of my questions answered.
In fps games, which would be best out of these three?
8600 GT, 2600 XT gddr3, or 2600 XT gddr4
Is there much difference between the 2600 xt gddr3 and gddr4? If so, how much?
Please also know that the 2600 XT gddr3 is 5 bucks more than the 8600 gt, and the gddr4 is 20 bucks more than the 8600 GT, so yeah.
What do you guys think? I can't really find a dx9 $100 card that is has better performance, can you?

Ive got an 8600 GT and can play the Bioshock demo at max at 1600x1200 with very little slowdown. Course mine is the MSI OC edition, and also bumped to 650/1700.
My 2 cents: who ever has the better drivers at the moment. My 8600 is a stop-gap until I can find a 256bit bus- DX10-single slot card that will fit in my case.

If you are not using vista than get a x1950pro for 130. It blows both of them out the water. Even if you are using vista there dx10 performance is worse than xp.
