Am building a new rig and am choosing between these three cards.

Already using AGP version of X1600PRO in my current rig so would be happy with using something of this kind of calibre in new rig.

Is HD 2600 PRO equivalent to X1600PRO in terms of performance? ditto Geforce 8500GT

Pretty much whatever you're doing even just 2D video, the HD2600Pro will outperform the X1600Pro.

Sry, but unless you're going for really cheap, I would recommend the 2600 XT or the 8600GT...

My budget is pretty restricted - hence the choice in cards - if money wants an object I woudl be choosing the 8800!! lol

DONT get the 8600GT!! Its useless and ur never gonna play DX10 games on it! i assure you!

Get a 7900GS its cheaper than a 8600GTS yet faster in some benchmarks.

If you're gaming, I don't think any of those will really play newer games well. However, if you don't game you could go even cheaper, like a HD 2400 and use it for HTPC.

Why build a new rig and not buy a better video card? The hdpro2600 will be the best of the 3.
