And This Will Be USED ONLY USED FOR VIEDEO EDITING!! Also I was told to stay away from Vista until all the BUG's GONE! what do YOU THINK!

Negy,

Can you please post what you are looking for (gaming rig, some gaming and other apps, video/music editing, etc), and also an approximate budget.

I just built a pretty decent setup for around $1500 that looked like this:

Antec 900
E6750
MSI P6N Diamond 680i
Optiarc DVD drive
Western Digital 250GB HD
OCZ 700W PSU (large for future upgrades)
4GB Crucial Ram DDR 800 (4-4-4-12 - fast timings)
22" Samsung monitor
MSI 8800 GTS OC 640mb

I didn't want to jump on the Vista train yet, because I didn't feel like dealing with it yet, and like XP because it is presently so stable (plus I had heard it rumored that there will be another OS not too long in the future - 2008/2009 maybe).

Good luck. With a little help on a budget and purpose of the build, I think we can get you on the way. Don't worry, it's not too bad to assemble and pretty fun if you like the tinker.

Hey there negy, yeah it's a little hard to know what your looking in the system. If you just want to do editing and things like that, here is a sample system.

Cooler Master Centurion 5
Corsair 520
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 2.4GHz
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R
STT DDR2-800 4GB (2x2GB)
MSI nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB Silent
Seagate ST3320620AS 320GB
LG Electronics GSA-H62NK 18X SATA Super Multi DVD+/-RW
LG L206WTY-BF Black 20" 2ms

That's around $1400 with a nice Quad core and 4GB RAM.

As for Vista, unlike many others, I would tell you to get it in the 64bit version. If you switch to adobe, they support 64bit operating system and will probably support quad core soon.

I have been using vista for a long time now and have had no problems at all. There were driver issues, but that was the fault of the software and hardware companies for not providing proper vista drivers. Those problems had cleared up and I can run any software on my machine with no problems what so ever.

If you need any help negy, msg me on aim or yahoo at any time. I'll be more than happy to help :). Maximus9102 is my sn.

haha well that's their job ;). You don't really need anything over 1500 for what you want to do. You can even go below 1300.

Do you need a monitor as well? because you can save a lot of money if you don't need one. Without a monitor you can get:

Cooler Master Centurion 5
Antec NeoHE 430
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 2.4GHz
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R
STT DDR2-800 4GB (2x2GB)
MSI nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB Silent
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB
LG Electronics GSA-H62NK 18X SATA Super Multi DVD+/-RW

For around $1100
