Hi everybody! I`ve got one question. I`m about to buy a new rig and i dont know about motherboards very well.
http://www.giga-byte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Produc... roductID=2314 Does this will support quad core? And is this a decent MB?

What motherboard? Link isn't displaying anything. Better to go to new-egg, usually says it right on there.

Me, I went with the Asus striker extreme. Hasn't let me down, and I dodged some nast bugs with the 8800's that hit eVGA boards, but those are probably resolved now.

yes. it does. says so on the second paragraph in the gigabyte website.

vylo, the last bit of the link is missing when you click on it. you'll have to copy paste that bit into the address bar. problem with the new improved toms site.

That Newegg site displays fine for me - complete. I have no idea what you're talking about?

@OP: Under "Supported CPU":
Quote:
CPU Socket Type LGA 775
CPU Type Quad-core / Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Duo / Pentium
FSB 1333/1066/800/533MHz

Supported CPU Technologies Hyper-Threading Technology

Seems pretty obvious to me - yes.

He was probably talking about the Gigabyte link.. It doesn't take you to any specific Mobo.

OK, back on topic. Yes, that motherboard will support quads. Would I buy it, no. I'd buy the newer model GA-P35-DS3R. It's $15 more but it's based on the P35 chipset (which is replacing the P965).
