Hey Guys!! Just want to build a cheap overclocking computer....
I'm getting a P35 motherboard but not sure of the processor for overclocking...

Which of these Cpus would u recommend and is the best overclocker for the money:

E2100s (what is the difference between them?)

E4000s (mixed reviews here...people love them or don't, same.....whats the difference between the 4200, 4400 etc.)

and the 6300s possibly, but 1)are they worth the xtra $$$ over the 4000s and 2) is the E6550 better for the same price?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] rder=PRICE

I heard the multipliers on different models are different (8x, 9x, 10x, etc.) but what does that mean

I am not considering the 6400s because they are a stretch ($$$)

Any known overclocks and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!!

If you want to save money, get an E2160, they seem to have very good overclocking potential at a low cost. If you can afford an E6550, then get that as it will give you good results also, and have the 4MB of L2 Cache instead of 1MB.

Ok.....so compared to the E6300s, the E6550 (how overclockable is it) is a better deal.

But what aout the E4000s, are they worth the extra $30-50 compared to the E2100s?

And which is better, the E2140, E2160, or E2180?

Clockspeeds aside,

the 6050s have 4mb cache and 1333 fsb,
the 4000s have 2mb cache and 800fsb,
the 2100s have 1mb cache and 800fsb,
the 6300 has 2mb cache and 1066fsb.

if you're getting a good P35 MB, you'll be able to overclock any of them just fine. the 6550 will probably go the highest, and it has the most cache, so should be the best performer.
