I just received my new harddrive from Western Digital 750GB Sats3 (WD7500AYYS) i installed the harddrive then loaded up windows on my other drive and then partition the new WD drive well then i decided to install a freah copy of windows on the Sata WD drive and use my old drive as a store.
So i went into my bio set the WD drive to boot and to boot from cdrom so i can install windows well i was installing windows it asked me to restart like normal but after it restarts and goes on to load the os to continue the install it says:
"Error in reading disk"
"Please press ALT+CTRL+DEL to restart"
Well then i thought maybe its the sata drivers not installed correctly so i made a sata driver boot disk and then tryed that with no luck same message.
I did a error check on the drive and it came back with none found so now i don't know what to do
Here are my computer specs:
Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor: Athlon 64 X2 3800+
RAM: OCZ Platinum Pc3200 DDR400 Dual channel 2GB
Videocard: XFX Geforce 7900GTO 256MB PCI-X
Harddrives: 200GB Maxtor IDE-133(storeage)
250GB Maxtor IDE-133(main want to make storage)
750GB Western Digital Sata3(New drive)
Powersupply: Thermaltake Purepower 480w
---
I also unplug my two maxtor drive before i turn on the computer before i install XP on the WD drive
Suggest disconnecting all the drives but the WD and do a clean install with a full format. Never a good idea to install Windows with more than one drive installed.
