I recently bought a new mobo, with 4 ramslots. I assume it has the dual channel function. anyway, can i use for instance 2 x 2 x 512 mb, and still use dual channel? I read something about 1-3, 2-4, so I assume thats the case.
If you mean use 4x512, then yes that should work. Pretty much any board will support 4 sticks in dual channel, as long as they're the same size/speed, However, in some instances, you have to loosen up your timings(especially on AMD systems)
