Im looking to build new system with a Q6600, and looking for some
suggestions on possible oc it to 2,6-3ghz stable? and with what
Motherboard / Ram suggested if so.

Board wont need to be SLI, just plan on using one GeForce 8800, thinking of using
the " BFG Tech BFGR88768GTXOCWCE GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retai"

and yeah feeling old and behind on it all lol, for one never OCed any of older systems but from what ive seen
suggested alot lately is to get the Q6600, question is just if i can OC it fairly simple with some help here or better left untouched.. :P

You should go with Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, a great board with nice overclocking features, very stable too.

Q6600 is a great choice, if you plan to OC it with air cooling I'd recommend getting Thermalright 120 Ultra + Arctic Silver 5 paste, with quality DDR2 800 ram you should be able to OC to 3.2Ghz stable at the very least.

GTX, I recommend going with the basic $500 EVGA 8800 GTX just for the step up program EVGA exclusively offers, considering that the monstrous 9800 GTX is suppose to be out somewhere in November, I'd really recommend sicking with EVGA.

I have the Q6600 clocked to 2.6 ghz on air with a cheaper Arctic cooling HSF with no troubles.
Get the G0 stepping Q6600 and you should see even better results.
I have 4 gigs of the G. Skill
