I'm trying to find a CPU Cooler for my Quad Core Q6600, it needs to be the smallest yet best performing heatsink with fan, are there any around like that?

I was also wondering if there was quite a small Intel sized CPU cooler which performed better, looked around couldnt really find anything though..

Freezer Pro 7 is pretty good.

I'm using the freezer 7 pro and it works pretty well on my Q6600. Currently in my hot room running at 2.7ghz I idle at 45, 40, 39, 44 and go full load to 58-62 ish. I took my computer to my cool basement and idles dropped 12* each with the same clock, and I clocked it to 3.2ghz with idles still lower then the ones in my hot room, but it wasn't stable under load(core 0 and 1 don't like OCing) Its a nice cooler though.

Well that 58-62 was at 100% cpu load across all 4 cores with Orthos in a room that is too hot. When I went to my basement, Those full load Orthos dropped by about 12* each, maxing out at 46* - 52* each. So if you have a normal room temperature, your cpu will run somewhere in there. Just some info, its the only cooler I have experience with so far so its all I can help with.

whats wrong with the stock one? i mean if your not going to overclock it is fairly small and has more fins on the quad one(never used it still have my 9500AT on there now and my AC 7 for the E6600 when i get it a board and ram.).

Current temps - All cores folding cpu 100%
room 21c - CPU speed 2.93ghz - Fan speed 65%(9500AT) 1600rpms
core 0 - 51c
core 1 - 50c
core 2 - 47c
core 3 - 47c

When it gets to 30s the temps go up to about 60ish.

so i bet even the stock can do this(or no more then 10c over...and thats in specs) under normal loads and clocks.

Well I have a Asus Star Ice, so I'm not sure if I should keep it since I already have it right here, how much is the difference between Arctic freezer Pro & Asus Star Ice?
It is possible that I may buy an Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX6700 2.66GHz CPU, what would be the CPU Cooler needed for this one?

The Central Air Conditioner is always on tand he temperatures are around 20-25 degrees celcius, usually 23 degrees celcius.

Oh, by the way the CPU Cooler needs to fit in the Asus P5K3 Deluxe Motherboard.

You dont really need a QX6700, a Q6600 will suit you just fine, QX6700 is very overpriced and really only for people with like high end water cooling who need that extra push.

Ok thanks for telling me that, I guess there is no difference, but how about the Q6700?
