Hi all, i have an e6400 and p5b deluxe mobo.

I've been overclocking my cpu for the past while and i have the vcore set to auto.

fsb @ 400mhz

so i'm at 3.2ghz

now when looking in cpu-z my vcore is showing 1.5V which in turn is raising my temps quite a bit. I've seen users post here with my cpu and board with a higher overclock yet a much lower vcore.

I 've tried to set my vcore lower, but my machine wont post.

Any idea why my vcore has to be so high?

One note, Vcore on Auto almost always applies more voltage than necessary. Take a look at the Overclock sticky for details, but you should start by manually setting Vcore near the top of the factory spec voltage. Check the sticky for other recommended BIOS settings to maximize your stability.

Try that, and if it doesnt work, start adjusting your FSB down until you find stability.

Personally, I have found that my CPU seems to hit a wall at 380MHz, where significantly more voltage is required to be stable. You might try a slightly lower speed until you find stability.
