Hi just wondered if anyone is using 'Sandbox software' like 'Bufferzone Pro' http://www.trustware.com/BufferZone-Pro/

Is it a good way to prevent programs leaving junk on your PC ?
The software runs in a secure section of your PC's hard drive or memory.

Is it as good as it seems? Any problems? Which software are you using?

Others may suggest it is overkill?

Any advice if used or are using such software would be appreciated

Sand boxing generally will enhance security but like everything else I wouldn't rely on it. As for "leaving junk" well largely only junky programs will create junky data so only install things you trust. As you pointed out sand boxing can cause issues but I've never used it regularly enough to give any pointers.

I suppose an alternative would be to boot from a live device or use some type of VM.
