This is a revision to my other build. This is for photo editing, slight video editign, some games, music, basically a little bit of everything. I plan on OCing the cpu only, to 3GHz.

I'd go for an Antec P180B instead, about $40 cheaper and it's the same on the inside. Also I would only buy Hitachi, WD, or Seagate for HDDs, I find them more reliable.

Oh yeah and get the GA-P35-DS3R, that 965P is old tech.

Looks pretty good. I agree with emp though, the P35 is a much better board with newer technology. Everything else looks good though.

ill say the same as EMP look at WD or seagate for hard drives...

and hes right about the P965... go with a P35 Gigabyte or ASUS

It doesn't say if the XP media center is 32 or 64 bit. It's 32, right? How much RAM can I expect to see XP using?

Also on a side note, is there a way that I can set up the CPU fan to go different speeds at different temperatures? Or do I have to swith the speeds manually? This will be overclocked to about 3GHz.

It probably is 32-bit if it doesn't say, you can expect anywhere from 2.5GB to 3.4GB of ram. And if you're going to OC, just set the fan to 100%, even if you weren't, it's a good idea to set it to 100%.

should I set all the case fans to 100% also? Noise bugs me...

keep in mind tho that the GA-P35-DS3R doesnt have firewire...if that is one of your buying factors. I was about to go down that path, and discovered no firewire.

I also saw that. I probably won't ever use firewire, BUT it will annoy me so much that the case has firewire ports that won't work. Is there a P35 board that is not more expensive than this one that has firewire? and is as good at supporting OCing and equal to this Gigabyte one?

Never, ever, ever buy a Maxtor harddrive.

Just say "No".. don't do it.

Here are some nicely rated mobos that do have firewire. Some of them are a little more expensive:
* Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6
* ASUS P5K Deluxe
* foxconn p35a-s
* abit ip35 pro

+1; Get something more reputable like WD or Seagate
