Hey guys, I'm upgrading this old computer of mine. Here are the current specs:

1800MHZ Intel Pentium 4
Radeon 9200 AGP 8x
480 watt dual fan power supply
1GB of DDR RAM
160 GB Western Digital 7200RPM Hard Drive.
DVD Drive

I want to buy a new proccessor, motherboard, video card, and DDR2 ram with a buget of around $400.

This is an idea I had in mind .
$50 on Ebay Amd athlon x2 3600+ 1.9ghz (Could overclock for more perfomance)
$175 HIS Radeon 2600XT 512MB

$100 2GB (1024 x2)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16820231098
$90
What do you guys think of this configuration?

Hey there, welcome to the forums. First off, that graphics card isn't really good. The new generation cards are a little under performing at the moment. I would really recommend getting the X1950pro from newegg, its only around 137 and is a lot better at gaming than the 2600XT.

The links don't seem to work, but for memory I'd go with Super Talent DDR2-800. They are cheaper than some other mem out there, but have a great timings and performance.

For motherboard, try:

If you have any questions at all, hit me up on aim or yahoo, Maximus9102. I'd be happy to help you out further :)
