48 bit adressing ??

I want to buy a new HDD so i've been doing a little research.I found out that I might need a bios update to be able to run a 250 GB HDD due to the this 48 bit adressing or LBA 48.I'm running XP service pack 2 so the OS is not a problem but how can I tell if the BIOS can be updated(or if it even needs updating) to support large HDDs.My motherboard is an ECS K7VTA3 V6.0C BIOS 07/19/2004.

Should be good to go, check the link below, doesn't mention which BIOS version so hopefully ok with the one you have (I try it first as flashing a new BIOS should not be done unless it solves a problem)
