Received my system last week and only started playing with it today. Noticed something strange on the memory readings off the mobo. Here's my current set-up.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 8MB/1066FSB S775 CPU
Asus P5KC iP35 S775 ATX Mainboard w/Audio/GB/DDR2&DDR3/eSATA/FW
OCZ Vista-Upgrade 4GB DC PC2-6400 DDR2 Memory Kit
BFG Geforce 8800GTS OC2 640MB PCI-E Video Card

My memory readings display 667 and DDR. Should I not be seeing 800 and DDR2?

Thanks for the help.

This was being displayed through a program I was running called 3DMark.

When I run CPU-Z the results are even worse. In the SPD tab I see in the Maximum Bandwidth information (PC2-5300 333MHZ) for slots 1 and 3. Slots 2 and 4 are empty but that's OK.

System does not appear to be reading my ram correctly and I'm not sure based on this reading whether I'm running at 333MHZ.

However, 3DMark has me at 667MHZ.

Thanks for the help.

The max bandwidth bit of the spd tab doesn't really matter, just ignore it. Have you manually set your ram speed and voltage in the BIOS? You nearly always need to do this to run your memory at its advertised speed.

I looked at the OCZ site and they say for this type of ram I have to set my voltage at 2.0 and my ram speed at DDR2-800mhz. However, when I set my ram speed at DDR2-800mhz I get an overclocking error upon bootup. Therefore I have to set the ram speed to AUTO which I guess the system interprets to be 667MHZ. Is there another setting in the BIOS that I have to set so I don't get the overclocking error? All other BIOS settings except for the memory latency settings are set to AUTO. The latency settings are set to the manufacturers specs. Thanks again for the help.

In the General Section:
Type = DDR2
Size = 4096 MBytes
Channels# = Dual

In the Timings Section:
Frequency = 334.2 MHz
FSB:DRAM = 4:5
CAS# Latency = 5.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay = 6 clocks
RAS# Precharge = 6 clocks
Cycle Time (Tras) = 18 clocks

Thanks.

If you've manually set the votage to 2.0 then, it does seem very odd. Would you be able to write down the error it gives you and post it here? Any chance you could get a screen shot up of the memory settings page in your BIOS? I've never seen that particular bios as its a newish board, but a look at the screen would likely present the solution...

Will do. However, it will have to wait. The machine is packed up and headed back to the shop. Some other problems came up and I don't have the time to look at them.

Thanks.
