Ok, here is the story. I am currently running an xp3000+ with 1.5g ram and an agp ATI X1950PRO(512mb).

I have $350 I can use to upgrade.

My first thought is to get the best processor I can, new ram and a cheap mb with agp since the 1950pro is a descent card. I can always upgrade the MB with I get cash to upgrade my video. Thats my thinking anyway, feel free to tell me how stupid it is

I am looking at the AMD 6000+ x2 right now.

So, intel vs amd and a good agp vide card vs a cheap pci-e?

Most of the system usage with be for games.

I know this is painful, but your best choice is probably to do nothing. Save another $450, then get something like this:

GA-P35-S3L $105
8800 GTS 320 MB $270
E6750 $212
Corsair 520HX $115
RAM 2GB DDR2-800 $78 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820227231
