Hi. Well my question is: i have a d975xbx2 Intel motherboard with an Intel core 2 quad Q6600 processor and RAM DDR2 553 Corsair. And i wish to upgrade my Rams memories. But i doesn't have idea if my PC supports PC2 (PC2 is the same as DDR2?) And my question: The Kingston HyperX - Memory - 2 GB ( 2 x 1 GB ) - DIMM 240-pin - DDR II - 800 MHz / PC2-6400 - 1.95 V - unbuffered - non-ECC works in my PC?

Sorry if i didn't explain me well, the English isn't my natal lenguage.

Thanks you for all your answers.

The best way to find out what RAM is compatible is to go to the manufacturer's website, enter the make and model of your motherboard and it will tell you what is compatible. If you want Kingston, go to the Kingston websire

That particular Kingston set wouldn't be your best choice. Your MB specs are 1.8 to 1.9 v for memory. The Kingston website has a good search function, just input d975bx2 (from the pick list) and you'll get a whole page of model #s. The bx2 can also use ecc memory, but it will cost more...

Mmm thank you very much! Well i put my motherboard name in the Kingston main page and it gave me that result http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/co [...] it1=Buscar

It means that ALL RAMs in the list are totally compatible with my mainboard? especially 800Mhz RAMs, because i am interested in theese.

And PC2 = DDR2?

Thanks you again for all your answers.

Looks like it's on the Kingston list so it should work. The link is to 1GB, you''ll want to get a pack of 2X1GB. Check newegg, may be a bit cheaper

It will work, but it is only a single module. This model no. most matches your original request. KVR800D2N5K2/2G (Kingston's matched pair kit model no.'s always end with K2)

And yes, for all practical purposes pc2 = ddr2.
