Asus P5B-Plus Vista Edition
IDE Pioneer DVR-112XL
Core 2 E6420
Kingston 667Mhz X2 : 2GB

 

The DVD is connected to the IDE port (JMB363) ,
The drive works in extremely slow speed , only a hundred k/s when reading CD, not to mention DVD discs.
In fact, the problem persists in both windows and dos.

 

The Asus has no Bios update for my problem I tried to change the BIOS settings for JMB363 , but it didn't help.

Have you tried a different optical drive? See if there are any firmware updates for the drive
