Can a USB virus infect a Logitech G500 programmable mouse?

I think that a USB device (Lego Mindstorms) infected one of my computers and I want to be careful about the mouse.

Could the mouse be infected?

If so, how can I tell/remove the virus?

A mouse cannot become infected. That mouse is not really programmable; the Logitech software is programmable. . .
