Cannot install GFX driver

Hi, I can't install my graphic card's (Leaktek WinFast PX6600 GT TDH) driver into win xp pro, no matter how many times I try. My screen will go black during the installation and I have to manually reset my computer. I have used different versions of the driver and just formatted my computer. Can someone help me with this problem. Thanks.

What kind of monitor do you have and how is it hooked up? IE is it a CRT via DSUB or is it an LCD/Plasma via DSUB or DVI? It's common for nVidia drivers to blank/flicker the screen while installing drivers. It might be that when it does this, your monitor may not be "coming back to life" after the signal is restored. Have you tried just turning the monitor off and back on after a few minutes of being blank?

I did but it still shows as a blank screen with a _ blinking at the top left hand corner.
