This question will probably be thought of as silly, but I don't really know much about computers. I just play games and use MSN and such. Anyway, I can get a MSI 8800GTS 640MB for the same price as a Gainward card of the same type. The thing is that the cheapest option I can find of Gainward won't have the card in stock before late September. My question - Are there any huge differences between a MSI 8800GTS 640MB and a Gainward 8800GTS 640MB?
No, they are most likely just the nVidia reference design. Unless one card is factory over-clocked, there is likely to be a negligible difference in performance.
an OC'd card is faster than a non OC'd, and if it is factory overclocked then it is almost certainly safe and won't void your warranty like doing it yourself would
