Hey I was just hoping you guys could look this build over and see if there's anything better I can get for the money. I don't want to increase the cost, and I can only order from Newegg. Also I don't have the links handy, but I've been over it enough I know pretty well what the parts are.

Case - Centurion 534 ~~ $50
PSU - Thermaltake 430W (The one with real good reviews on Newegg) ~~ $40
CPU - E4400 C2D Allendale ~~ $130
Mobo- GA-P35 DS3R ~~ $130
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM SATA (Perpendicular one) ~~ $80
RAM - G.Skill DDR2 800 PC6400 2x1GB ~~ $90
GPU - GeForce 7600GT PCI-e ~~ $90
DVD - Sony NEC SATA DVD r/w Combo ~~ $35
Input - Microsoft USB Keyboard with mouse included ~~ $25
Monitor- Acer 20" 1680x1050 max resolution ~~ $170

Total with those prices rounded up is $840.

I want to see if there's anything I can do to improve the build without increasing the cost. Please let me know if that's possible, also if you think it's a decent set-up for the money.

Thanks :D

For what your paying for the 7600GT you could get a 8600GT with rebates for about the same price. It'll handle DirX 10. Otherwise looks good

I was thinking about that, but I don't like to take rebates into consideration when thinking about price... I find them relatively unreliable. Also I've heard that any 8 series GPU isn't really worth it because they're all lacking compared to the 8800 or other cards in that price range.

Thanks for your reply though :D I was beginning to think that nobody would.

I was just thinking about it and maybe the x1950 pro would be a good choice for a card... it's more money, but seems to have MUCH better performance... I just need to know if the 430w PSU will be enough for it.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for being so wishy washy.

Check out the Best $100 card for a comparison of the 2. Know what you mean about rebates but if you can go up a level, I figure it's worth the gamble. Besides it's always nice after couple months to all of sudden having a extra $15 or so to spend. :)
