I am buying a Q6700 Intel Retail processor and figured that I would purchase the following two items for compound and cleaner, but I want your opinion and methods.

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM

Arctic Silver ACN-60ML (2-PC-SET) Thermal material Remover & Surface Purifier - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100010

Question 1: About how many applications/reapplications can I expect from that tube of compound?

Question 2: What is the best way of cleaning the existing compound that comes on Intel retail processor heatsinks? Is it with cleaner like this or something else? Do you wear latex gloves and use a paper towel or specific type of cloth or what?

The tube of AC you have is enough to do many HSF installs. I use a .98 cent bottle of isoprophyl alcohol and a soft cloth to clean the surface of my heatsinks.

Yeah, it says a plastic tool... does it just pry right off or is it stuck to it or what? what kind of 'plastic tool' and what kind of cloth is good?

Should I basically use a credit card and a coffee filter?

If you are asking about removing the existing silver compound from a retail heatsink, just use a dab of your cleaning compound or some alcohol on a soft cloth and wipe it off. It will come right off.
