I need some advice, I will be building a new gaming system in the next coming weeks. My question is, should i start off with getting the 8800 GTX, and using it on my current set up? or should i just wait. I plan on getting the q6600, Corsairs dominator pc6400, and EVGA nForce 680i for the MoBo. As for the other components, i will just reuse what i already have.

I'd go with Crucial Ballistix over Corsair Dominators and GA-P35-DS3R over the 680i, however if you're gaming at 1080p or higher then you will need SLI.

And to answer your question, if you can afford it then yes, get the 8800GTX.

WELL, if you're inevitably going to end up with a gaming system in the end, then YES. However, i are curious to what your current set up is.

G92 will be out around november. try to wait as LONG as possible. Also if you do nab a 8800GTX make sure you nab a EVGA model..Atleast then you can use the step up program. Way too late into the generation to nab a 8800 considering it has been out for 9 months.

Thanks for all the responses. My current set up is Abit AN8 Fatal1ty for the MoBo, Ati x1950xtx, AMD FX-60 Processor, and 2 gigs of corsair ram.
And i'm on a 26" monitor, so I'm running high resolutions.
