Vission Iceman Outdoor PC Dares The Elements

"Let's put things that shouldn't go in water in water," seems to be a slightly recurring theme here at the moment. Apart from Foxconn putting all their motherboards in big tubes with running water down the outer glass sheet, which only got amusing when the water stopped flowing, and others with their crush proof USB drives, Vission has the Iceman; a totally rigged, outdoor friendly computer. Hey, I'm wondering is an audigy se noticeably good over on board sound?

I have logitech x-5300 5.1 speakers and wear headphone a fair bit. I have my choice between this, staying with on board or getting an overpriced x-fi gamer. I can get this for around 30 bucks, or an x-fi gamer for around 100 when last month they where at 80, seems like every time I consider getting a x-fi they go up in price.

Depends on what mobo you currently use. I use my Audigy LS (similar to SE) over my on-board sound on my ASUS P5B-E. However, I only use it because I only have a 2.1 speaker sound system and I like to offload as much work as I can from the CPU. If I had a decent 5.1 or higher sound system, I would prolly use the on-board sound and save the $100 for some more ram and whatnot. Personally, I think the sound from most Audigy series cards is crisp and clean. But then again I'm not an audiophile.

I have an intel d865perl with 5.1 ac97 onboard. I don't really care about the 2% or w/e it uses I just wanna hear when i'm climbing up ladders and stuff lol. I would buy a live! 5.1, had the 2.1 in my old rig and my bro has the 5.1 they sound great. So your saying you onboard sounds better then your se?
