I'm looking mostly for audio quality. This is going to be exclusively for gaming; no music. I could care less about the price since they're within $20 on pricegrabber. I'm leaning towards the GMX 2.1, but the Soundsticks II has reviews that uniformly praised their audio quality, but I'm not so crazy about its subpar controls (no off switch and yet it has an LED =\).

The main thing is, I like the way the GMX 2.1 looks, the way it lacks an LED (unlike the not-turnoffable blue glow LED on the H/K subwoofer), and its dedicated control unit thing. The $120 question for me is, are all of these worth lower audio quality? Anyone know how well the GMX compares to the Soundsticks in audio quality?

If there is anyway possible, you should listen to both. It's really the only way to tell which sounds better to you.. I don't think it's ever a good idea to sacrifice sound quality with any audio devise, speaker, sound card, receiver, ect. The purpose of these devices is to create sound and why wouldn't you want the best quality you can afford? I assume leaving the Soundsticks on all the time isn't a problem or HK would have included an on/off switch.

I would audition both of them. Hopefully the store will allow you to play CDs or MP3s through them, but that's doubtful.

If I had to choose one without being able to test them, I would get the Klipsch Promedia because:

1. It has a mid-range which the H/K is missing
2. The H/K looks f-ugly.
