I have been trying to install windows xp pro (w/ service pack 2) as well as linux ubuntu.

No matter which I install, I now get this error message while installing windows:

Sesssion3_Initialization_Failed

"Technical Data:
Stop: 0x0000006F (0xC0000020, 0xC0000000, 0xC0000000, 0xC0000000)

Other's have had this problem as well, but I cannot figure out my issue.

I have done the following:

1. Switched out cd/dvd drives
2. Changed voltage on ram (was set at 5 5 5 9 and should have been 4 4 4 12 @ 2.2v for crucial ballistix drr2 800 ram)
3. Taken out ram to see if I had a bad stick.
I am trying to install the OS to a new raptor x drive that is unformatted. I also have old drives I have tried installing to that were stripped in windows on an old setup. They should NOT be the problem since the new drive gives the same error.

Hardware:
asus p5k deluxe: bios v2.58
q6600 (G0)
4 gigs crucial ballistix ddr2 800
ati x1900xtx
seasonic 650 watt psu

I doubt any of the other hardware is important (drives, dvd drive, case, etc)

Could the video card be giving it issues? Maybe its a bad mobo?

Have any of you w/ this mobo run across this problem?

Sorry for the long drawn out question. I am just in a hurry to get it working b/c I start classes tomorrow!

Sorry, both my linux and xp disks were unreadable due to small holes in the disk itself. At least it wasn't the hardware.

I no longer have an issue. Thanks though....

Remove 2 gigs of Ram and install. I had that issue with Vista 64bit - this might be your issue

Unless you have a 64 bit os, you can only use 2 gbs of ram
