Wow the X1950 XT is still a heavy weight contender

it ranks as the number 4 most powerful card right now. looks like a very impressive buy for only $170, given that the DX10 doesnt look that much better than DX9 right now( bioshock, crysis, and oblivion all look amazing in DX9) i think im going to purchase one then just wait until next years 8900 series cards come out. looks like a geat buy right now.

Oblivion doesn't have a Direct X10 version, but yeah it does look amazing in Direct X9 and the X1950XT is still quite a fast card.

There isn't enough out to have past it. You could drop it down one if you list both GTS cards instead of listing them as one. The DX10 midrange just isn't good enough to dislodge the old high-end.

I didn't look at the article, but wouldnt all these cards be faster than it ? :x1950XTX, 7950GX2, 8800 Ultra, GTX, GTS. AND the 2900XT. More like 7th best IMO.

they mention the ultra

"The first Direct X 10 video cards on the market were those using the GeForce 8800 chipset from Nvidia. Currently the fastest cards you can buy, the 8800 GTX packs 768 MB of GDDR3 and has a core clock speed of 575 MHz. A single 8800 GTX typically outperforms even systems with dual GeForce 7 GPUs, so, aside from the incredibly expensive 8800 Ultra, it's the best gaming card money can buy right now. Of course, your wallet will take a sizeable hit."

Why did they put the 8500gt under the 7900gs, i don't think a 8500gt is better then a 6600gt.

I think this might have something to do with it:
You acknowledge that any reliance upon any advice, opinion, recommendation, statement or other information displayed or distributed through the About Web site is at your sole risk.

That's under the product disclaimer page. In other words, they don't really ensure that the info they post is accurate. They take stuff from other sites and repost it and never really site their sources. A little sketchy huh?

Site is very inaccurate.. missing cards and put the 7900gs under the 8600gt with is a pos.

And naming the 8500GT the 10th best video card... WTF!?!! No, it won't "get you there" in DX10! No, it's not "a good value"!
