More Information

Hi All,

I accidentally droped my 30.6GB Samsung SV3063H from about 3 feet on a cement floor. Now, when I try to use it, the head is moving all the way to what I suppose to be track 0 once, then retry to see it for 5 more times, then gives up. No computer can see my disk, either internally, or through a USB adapter. Is there a software tool that can force it's way into the HDD? Or, if this fails, would it make sense to try and buy another identical HDD and move the platters?

Recovery companies in my area are very expensive ($500 and up), so I'm looking to something closer to earth (and my pocket).

Thanks for advice,
SxN
